Record the meeting. Not a bot.
Other notetakers send a guest into your call — a tile in the grid, a name in the participant list, a small moment of 'who is that?'. Woviq captures the audio from your own browser instead. Nobody joins. Nobody is surveilled.
No bot in the participant list.
When you hit record, Woviq grabs the meeting tab's audio and mixes in your microphone — locally, in your browser. There's no second participant, because nothing connects to the call. Everyone else just sees a normal meeting.
- ✓Captures tab audio + your mic, mixed locally in an offscreen document
- ✓You still hear everyone — capture is silent and invisible
- ✓You must be signed in to record; quota is checked before you start
- ✓Mic permission is asked up-front; denied mic = tab-audio only
Meet, Zoom and Teams — captured identically.
Audio capture is platform-agnostic, so the same bot-free recording works across all three major web clients. On Google Meet, Woviq also reads the active-speaker indicator to attach real names; on Zoom and Teams it diarizes server-side instead.
- ✓Google Meet — capture + live active-speaker names
- ✓Zoom web client — capture + AI speaker separation
- ✓Microsoft Teams web — capture + AI speaker separation
- ✓A draggable capsule shows a live timer and a one-tap Stop
Mute means mute.
When you mute yourself in the meeting, Woviq mutes your microphone in the recording too — not just in the call. And a recording that never had real speech in it is detected locally and simply never uploaded, so your quota is never spent on silence.
- ✓Mute in Meet → your voice is silent in the saved audio
- ✓Silence guard skips empty recordings automatically
- ✓Auth tokens are never exposed to the in-page meeting context
- ✓Audio is stored privately and served only through an authed proxy
Your recording survives the worst.
Stop the recording and the audio uploads straight to durable storage — chunked, retried, and resumable. The save is owned by the background worker, so closing the side panel, closing the tab, a dropped connection or a browser restart can't lose your meeting.
- ✓Direct-to-storage upload bypasses size limits — even 2-hour calls
- ✓Automatic retries with backoff; audio is kept in memory between tries
- ✓A server backstop re-queues any meeting whose processing didn't land
- ✓Works even if the panel is closed when you stop
